The stock magazine does not hold much. You only have six rounds to work with, which is a big problem for me. In a scary situation, I don't think six bullets will cut it, especially when the adrenaline is heavy, and the pistol bullets tend to take more hits than you think. You can grab a revolver that has virtually no chance of jamming and hurting you.
Glock 19 For Concealed Carry Review
Let's talk about twitch. Bottom line for subcompact: it's always crap. The frames aren't big enough to cushion some of the acute force of the 9mm, so you'll find that recoil is actually a bit more of a struggle than with a compact. The kick is fast but not uncontrollable. That said, I don't really take out my 43 unless it's for drilling.
43 maintains Glock's trademark reliability. I have only experienced a couple of failures in 1000 rounds. Reliability is a big consideration when choosing a carry gun; 43 provides that if you are inclined to carry it. It is not likely to work for you.
Accuracy is decent. I don't usually shoot beyond 25 yards when it comes to subcompacts, and the Glock 43 was just fine at that range. I did it
I have an issue where I noticed a bit of judder from the faster recoil. After solving that, the 43ers did well at the 25-yard line.
What I've Learned After Carrying A Glock 19 For 4,992 Hours
I have to admit that I really like the look of the Glock 43. I've always been intrigued by a small version of my favorite gun. It is identical to the compact G19 and full-size G17, only slightly smaller. It is still very much a Glock in both function and appearance.
At $499, the same as the Gen 4 Glock 19. There is no way I would buy this as anything other than a collector's item or for a review.
The Glock 43 is nice, but definitely not something I would rush out to buy. It works well but lacks decent capacity and the recoil is uncomfortable (something especially important when you're thinking of buying this for someone as a gift) but if you like Glocks then this would be a pretty good addition to your collection, if you don't mind deferring the money.

Although the G19 is a bit more difficult in the world of concealed carry pistols, there are solid reasons why this is the most popular CCW weapon on the market today. The G19 is a reliable, well-rounded pistol. It has an ergonomic design and enough material for easy handling, even for inexperienced shooters. It's slightly smaller (and more stealthy) than Glock's full-size handgun (Glock 17), but large enough to reduce recoil and muzzle lift for faster and more accurate follow-up shots.
Compared to the G17, the G19 sacrifices only two rounds. With a 15-plus-round capacity, the double G19 has a higher-than-average round count (as far as concealed carry goes). And every round counts in a self-defense situation, especially since changing scopes can be problematic for regular shooters, especially in high-adrenaline situations.
The dual design (which provides enough round capacity) can also be a potential drawback. Because the G19 holds its cartridges in two staggered columns, it has a fairly thick grip. Some wearers may find it difficult to hide the large width, especially under form-fitting clothing or sheer materials.

However, the almost insane popularity of the Glock 19 has produced a large number of holsters and accessories for this gun. There's no shortage of cases to choose from for this model, some of which are designed specifically to minimize printing.
For their Model 26, Glock took virtually all the functionality of the G19 and reduced it to the size and weight of a small snub nose revolver. Its ultra-sub-compact size makes the G26 (affectionately nicknamed the "Baby Glock") much easier to conceal.
However, concealment is only part of the CCW equation. Finally, you need a weapon that you can shoot accurately. The real work happens after your gun leaves the hidden compartment to face the dangerous threat. And the lighter weight, shorter aiming radius and limited grips make the G26 a bit more difficult to shoot accurately. At self-defense distances, however, most shooters shouldn't notice much of a difference.
The internet is full of "experts" claiming that this pint-sized gun is perfect for small hands. Don't listen to them. Small hands do not require a small gun. In fact, smaller shooters (who logically also have small hands) often shoot much better with a larger gun. Small guns tend to have a faster recoil, which can be difficult to tame for small-handed shooters. A gun with an additional grip element will feel more stable in the hand, even if that hand is fine.

Also, if you have large, hard palms, you will have a hard time fitting into this grip. Fortunately, there are some good handling extensions on the market that essentially solve the problem.
If you thought the G26 was small, the Glock 43 is even smaller. This model definitely pushes the boundaries of size while still managing to retain most of the Glock's practical shooting capabilities.
