Beretta 92 Clone - Girsan Raygard has been a Turkish National Army and law enforcement officer for many years and is a NATO-recognized party. The reputation is so good that the vice president of the EAA uses this pistol in his daily life. Mind you, one guy with a lot of pistols to choose from carries a Gerson Regard.

Girsan REGARD MC, 92 DA/SA, Full Size, 9mm, 4.9" Barrel, Alloy Frame, Flat Dark Earth Color, 18Rd, Ambidextrous Safety/Decocker, Good Location, 18Rd Buying the best rifle requires research, knowledge and sometimes money. .The first two, I think are really important to avoid bad purchases. In my opinion, the idea that more money equals better quality is starting to weaken. The pistol shows that you don't have to spend a lot to get a good product. See pictures below.
The Girsan Regard is a clone of the Beretta 92F design, but with some significant differences. This is about the fact that I am reviewing what the Beretta M9A1 looks like if you want to see the special design where it develops around the rail.

Gerson specializes in reverse-engineering already well-crafted designs. Girson's primary focus, when it comes to Beretta design, seems to be ergonomics and overall control. One of the things I admire most about Girsan and their work is that they always adhere to military contracts, so you always get mil-spec products. Girsan is ISO 9001 certified and has a certificate in terms of industrial quality, which means that their factories must meet the standards of the Turkish military at all times. Gerson also performs NATO-like tests on their pistols, which they use to establish durability and performance standards. Check it out here.
The Girsan Regard shares many of the best qualities we like in the Beretta design, except it lacks some of the design's safety and reliability improvements, such as the larger hammer pin. A slight advance helps keep the shooter safe if the slide decides to roll back into the shooter's face.
Most of the internal parts on the Regard are interchangeable with Beretta parts. The only difference is the barrel and the lock. The locking angle on the rearguard makes it unique and prevents it from falling into the Beretta barrel.
One of the biggest moves taken from Beretta's design is the Honor Grip. With a large soft grip and a vertical version of the rear grip, it feels like you are holding the pistol properly. In fact, the grip is the same size as the Beretta grip, with minor changes such as the size of the rear servo.

The controls on the Girsan Regard are slightly different from the Beretta as they seem to be slightly larger than the Beretta. This allowed me to use key controls, such as the security feature, with ease. The journal publication, perhaps the only review not expanded or altered by Girsan. But, like the Beretta design, it's adjustable, easy.
I noticed that the left hand safety is a bit wider and wider, and the edges are less rounded than on my Beretta 92FS. The security system looks good and works well, which is a definite plus. The right side of the safety net cannot be extended in any way. In fact, the right side of the safety feels a little lighter than the Beretta.
The slide stop is similar in size to the Beretta stop, but does not have rounded edges. This seems to help just using it as output.
Online serrations aren't usually considered reviews, but I see them as reviews. This series is obviously different in appearance. But I will say that Gerson has done a good job of making the server deep enough to run, and not rounding out the server so that the user can handle the page properly.

The finish of the pistol appears to be a nitride finish. Finishing takes a long time to complete on this pistol, which I personally find more on the negative side. Usually if I want to find a pistol to wear I will need more. I like the wear on my guns, never mind that I'm not happy with the finish. A solid finish means the pistol will stay fresh longer.
The most common wear on these pistols is in the direction where the rail moves during recoil, and slightly forward on the barrel.
Another thing to note is that the barrel does not have a crown that is secured like a Beretta.
The words on the side of the magazine are a clear indication that the magazine's capacities are limited. Admittedly, 15 rounds isn't a bad capacity, but it's a bit below the standards we expect in pistols made today.
Taurus Pt92 Pistol Cerakoted Using Blackout And Gold
The double action/single action trigger pull on the Girson Regard is slightly different from the trigger pull you might use on a Beretta. The double action pull is very easy and feels light too, maybe around 8 pounds. In fact, I think the trigger pull feels smooth and light thanks to the beautiful finish of the front parts.
Recoil on this pistol has been tested with NATO ammunition only. I found the pistol to do well with NATO ammo, but not as smooth shooting as my Beretta. However, I have high hopes for pistol longevity with +P and +P+ ammo. Beretta pistols over the decades have proven that designs work after top counts with hot ammo, and I think Gerson designed their pistols to do just that.
The Girsan Regard, like many other Zenith pistols, comes with a 5-year warranty that covers the pistol against manufacturer defects. I prefer to get a lifetime warranty with pistols but I can understand the reasoning behind only having a 5 year warranty. Typically a pistol or a unit with a pistol will rear its ugly head in 2000 rounds in my experience. 5 years should be enough for a user to find defective parts, but then again, defective parts can occur in less than 5 years.
Girsan Regard has served me very well. It seems to be well made, and ready to use for work. The purpose of this pistol is more durable and feels a little less ergonomic. The controls and grips tell me that Gerson wanted to create a design that was a bit more interesting to a wider audience. Since the Beretta 92 pistol is known for its durability and strength, Girsa's chosen design was an easy choice. Gerson adds all the metal back into the design
