The police said in a statement to Sports on Monday that there is no new information about the investigation.

The University of Michigan Police Department said in a statement Saturday night that it had launched an investigation into the incident.

A source close to the team identified the two players as McBurrows and cornerback Gemon Green to The Detroit News, although it was unclear which one broke the nose.

Speaking to the media, Manuel said Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren, who attended Saturday night, will investigate the dispute. The two university police departments have launched a joint investigation, Michigan Deputy Police Chief Melissa Overton told The Detroit News.

Officers from the Michigan Campus Police Department, the Michigan State Police and the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department were among the agencies working Saturday at Michigan Stadium.

"What happened after the game was completely unacceptable," said Manuel. "That's not what happens after a game. That's not how the other team should grab a player and do what they do. That's never allowed.
