Following last week's opening of Marsh House, John Besh's all-day dining restaurant on the first floor of the Thompson Hotel, today marks the official L.A. public opening. Jackson, the highly anticipated Besh rooftop restaurant and bar. And Eater has the first look inside.
After a few days of a very quiet soft opening, the gem of a hotel has turned into a proper rooftop lounge. As with the rest of the hotel, New York-based firm Parts and Labor Design handled interior design duties, keeping the space light and airy while combining modern and vintage touches. The approximately 200-seat bar offers full views on three sides with plenty of seating, including one of the best outdoor spaces in the city.
On the food and drink side (see menu below), Besch and the hotel's executive chef Nathan Duensing put together a kitchen menu with offerings from grilled oysters with garlic, chili and absinthe to venison to a $75 chip and caviar dish . The full bar offers a variety of spirits and wines, as well as a short list of creative cocktails.
The bar opens at 18:00. tonight with a special set by Infinity Cat DJ. Then, starting tomorrow, the hours will be 3:00 p.m. to noon Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m. until 2 a.m. Friday, 12 noon. until 2 a.m. Saturday at 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. On Sunday.
